The Spine is a location in Watch Dogs: Legion.

Background[]

The Spine is a unique-looking building erected in 1986, built in the style of Radical Bowellism, where internal space is maximized by moving as much infrastructure to the outside of the building, giving them a distinctive appearance. By 2030, the Spine is not occupied by Lloyd's (as it was originally erected), but rather one of its many financial institutions, housing London's largest financial quantum supercomputer.[1]

Clan Kelley has a presence on the site, making sure no trace remains of Mary Kelley's illicit dealings, physically destroying hard drives taken from the building.[2]

Layout[]

While the audio file is located in the Kelley-controlled passageway at the bottom on the eastern end, both the paste-up and the tech point bundle are located on top of the structure. There's a southwestern access lift that can get the operatives up top, with the paste-up on the left from the orange cable tube and the tech point on the other side of the atrium top. Accessing it requires navigating around the green walkways and making a few precarious jump with a spiderbot (there's a useful spiderbot dispenser in the enclosure).

USB The Spine

A conversation recorded secretly that reveals some Clan Kelley secrets.

Clothing sounds and someone tapping on a microphone.
Mole: (whispering) Check, check?... Bloody - I hope this is working... Oh, shite. Here he comes.
Mole: Cheers, mate. Just about done with these.... Um... Strange getting rid of perfectly fine drives though. They've been formatted an all. Clean.
Clan Kelley Thug: Orders from the top. Can't be too careful I guess. Plenty of incriminating stuff that should've never been written down, let alone stored in a database.
Mole: Like- Like what?
Clan Kelley Thug: Ha! You taking the piss? It was all there, you know that. Kickbacks to connections in the 5-0, in parliament. Business contacts. Drug distribution. Even an early proto of the Gold - Nevermind. Missus Kelley doesn't like us talking about that.
Mole: But there's no recoverable data on them.
Clan Kelley Thug: She believes in being thorough. Nothing more thorough than crushing them to little pieces. That goes for just about anything. Or anyone. [laughs] You alright, there? Why so squirmy? And sweaty?
Mole: Uh... it's nothing. Noshed up on a ruby.
Sounds of a struggle.
Clan Kelley Thug: What's that then?
Mole: Hold off! It's nothing!
Clan Kelley Thug: You're bloody wired up?!
Mole: Get off! Listen!
Sounds of punching.
Clan Kelley Thug: You fucking grasser!... She's not going to crush you into little pieces! She's going to chop you up for fucking dog meat.
