The 580s are an African-American street gang that appears in Watch Dogs 2.
History[]
The 580s hail from Ghost Town, a violence-ridden community in Oakland, known more formally as Foster Hoover Historic District. The name Ghost Town came about because a drug dealer lamented about the district’s lack of other drug dealers. The gang known as 580s control the local drug trade and are allied with an East Oakland gang called the Big Time for joint crime sprees. They also participate in sideshows and the practice of "Ghost Riding." It is stated during the mission $911 that the 580s "used to be good for Oakland", likely using the money obtained from the drug-trafficking to help the poorer communities of Oakland, thus making them somewhat anti-heroic.
Activities[]
The 580s drug operation focuses on heroin, but fencing electronics (VR units) and smuggling vehicles with the OPD are other sources of income. In terms of intimidation or problem solving, the gang resorts to murder.

Trivia[]
- The 580s are based on various African-American turf gangs located in Oakland, such as the Ghost Town Gang and the Nut Case Gang.
- Although there isn’t much evidence to confirm this, it’s possible that Marcus Holloway was, at one point, affiliated with The 580s, since he is African-American, grew up in a low-income community in Oakland and was discriminated after being falsely accused by CTOS 2.0 of being the main suspect in a high-tech robbery. Since this would be a crime for personal gain, it’s possible that the 580s also discriminated Marcus due to him taking part in a crime that would not help the community. Rarely, they hint to have known Marcus, such as saying “Hey, it’s the hacker”. However, this might be because of Marcus's status as member of DedSec being public knowledge.
- Members of the Tezcas can appear near certain areas owned by the 580s, causing the two factions to attack each other. Likewise, members of the 580s can appear near Tezcas holdings in the Port of Oakland.
- The Tezcas, 580s and Auntie Shu Boys attack each other on sight. The three factions are rivals and according to an interceptable call, two African-American females are talking about a three-way shootout between these three groups.
