A standard black cab will get you about London in style.
―In-game description in Watch Dogs: Legion.

The Sumitzu Auto Taxi is a hackney carriage featured in Watch Dogs: Legion.

Design[]

As Watch Dogs: Legion takes place in London, the Taxi is heavily based on London's famous hackney carriage (also known as cab, black cab, hack or London taxi), mainly the LEVC TX, due to its more modern and futuristic design.

The shell is mostly black but have white parts on the door handles and hubcaps. It also has the word 'TAXI' written in yellow above the taxi, as well as the words 'FOR HIRE' on both front doors. The rear of the car has a screen under the rear window, which displays advertisements that change every few seconds. The bonnet of the car has a Sumitzu Auto badge on it.

Performance[]

Being one of the most common cars in the game, the Taxi has very average performance statistics. The mediocre top speed and above average acceleration are traits of most electric vehicles in real life, the top speed also made obsolete that the car (in it's intended function) is made to traverse tight city streets. The excellent handling reflects the fact that all London taxicabs are legally required to have a turn radius tighter than 25 feet. (approx. 7.6 meters).

Like the real-life LEVC TX, the Taxi is powered by a full-electric hybrid drivetrain, which powers to its rear wheels.

Trivia[]

  • The excellent handling of the vehicle may be a reference to the fact that London taxis famously have a very tight turn radius, supposedly to accomodate the roundabout at the Savoy Hotel.[1]
