I do not believe the baton he uses is an ASP friction lock. Once an ASP is deployed, it needs to be slammed rather hard against a solid surface in order to be collapsed again. When Aiden closes his baton, he simply pushes it shut with his left hand. To do something like that, he would need a cam lock, rather than a friction lock. A camlock baton has a friction spring release button at the base, allowing you to close it very easily.

It shouldn't matter that batons like Aiden's are sold only to police. He's proven very skilled at getting into restricted areas and killing all sorts of people including police. CasualGamer (talk) 21:41, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

It's also factually untrue. Batons are legal for sale in the majority of places in the USA, and many state even allow people to carry them for self-defense (For example, Tennessee and Maryland). This game takes place in Illinois. California is the only state that prohibits people who are not police or security guards from buying them, and it's not even well-enforced. CA's large population and prominent media representation (tons of fictional crime dramas are filmed there or take place there) often lead to people assuming that its laws are true for the rest of the US.Legitimus (talk) 13:11, October 14, 2014 (UTC)
