The Royal Courts of Justice is a location in Watch Dogs: Legion. It is a secure location in the London Borough of Camden.

Background[]

Built in 1870s and opened by Queen Victoria in 1882, the Victorian Gothic Revival style building complex became a centralized location for British courts and persists in this role to this day. However, under Albion rule, corruption among judges and barristers became rampant: For example, Rupert Williams, whose husband owns 2.5% of Blume, has consistently pheld the Snooper's Charter striking down challenges against the government, while Christopher Schincariol remains as a judge and in-house counsel for Broca Tech after a stint at Blume, settling ethics complaints out of court (and had the dubious distinction of devising an NDA so effective it was nicknamed "The Ballgag". Among barristers, Cynthia Cosanine formerly worked for Blume London as in-house counsel, and became the go-to specialist brought by SIRS to handle any challenges to mass surveillance.[1]

The list of corrupt judges and legal specialist compiled by activists was eventually discovered by Albion, leading to a full lockdown of the courts area, restricted only to credentialed and escorted VIPs.[2] It also helped limit access to the Courts after a series of protests and riots that left the facade covered in anti-government and anti-Albion graffiti.[3]

Layout[]

The Courts are a secure area, restricted to Albion. The courtyard is accessible, while the interior is not, with the two text files located in opposite corners of the yard, and tech points up on the balcony facing the side street.

Opportunities[]

  • Collect evidence: Required to trigger the Camden borough uprising, the computer that holds the evidence is located on the upper level on the courts in the corner across from the paste-up opportunity. A simple spiderbot throw allows for collecting it with ease.
  • Paste-Up: On the facade, facing the Strand.
  • Drone Platform

Rupert Williams. Judge. Struck down multiple attempts at hemming in the powers of the Snooper's Charter by civil cases against the government. Husband owns about 2.5 percent of Blume.

Cynthia Cosanine. Barrister. Former in-house counsel for Blume London, now technically private, but SIRS always seems to bring her in for any civil cases that make it to court. Once a surveillance-industrial-complex toadie, always a surveillance-industrial-complex toadie.

Christopher Schincariol. Judge. In house counsel for Broca tech, formerly Blume. Has settled about a dozen ethics complaints out of court. Apparently devised an NDA so effective, peers nicknamed it "the ballgag." Charming.
