Red Queen is the ninth story mission in Bloodline.
Plot[]
Wrench is contacted by Skye Larsen, the founder of Broca Tech. She states that she has a proposal for him and asks him to meet her in-person at her house. He initially brushes off the proposal and asks her to send it to his people first, but she iterates that her proposal may be the only and last chance to save coma-ridden Aiden Pearce. She provides a set of coordinates to Wrench before disconnecting. Wrench contacts Jackson for more information about Skye, learning that Jackson was a huge fan of her and that he had also received a college scholarship from her. Wrench tells Jackson of his doubts of Skye's intentions, but Jackson pushes Wrench to meet with her due to the lack of any better options.
Wrench reaches the coordinates, which belong to Skye's house. He enters the house and speaks with a hologram of Skye. She informs him that due to his conflict with Thomas Rempart and Wrench holding onto the BrocaBridge, Rempart had resorted to going to the direct source and taking the Broca Tech Deep Labs hostage. She tasks him with clearing out the Deep Labs and giving her control back. Wrench inquires about how she plans to help Aiden, and she replies that she will show him how after he brings the BrocaBridge to her at the Deep Labs.
After leaving her house, Wrench contacts Jackson and once again states his concerns. Jackson continues to push Wrench into following her orders so that Aiden can be revived. Jackson asks Wrench on the whereabouts of the BrocaBridge, and Wrench reveals that the BrocaBridge had been actually circulating through the postal system. After retrieving it, Wrench goes to the Deep Labs.
After neutralizing Rempart's forces on the ground level, Wrench learns from Jackson that Rempart had shut off access. However, he assures Jackson that he knows another way in, utilizing his Lady Smash hammer. In the Deep Labs, Wrench continues to neutralize any remaining Rempart forces. He then reaches the BrocaBridge room and restores control for Skye.
Wrench meets Skye, with Jackson bringing in Aiden on a wheelchair. She provides a brief explanation on how the system works; it requires two users, one assuming the role of the pilot who uses the BrocaBridge, and a subject who is connected to the reader. The system will allow them to interface with Aiden's mind, scanning his brain and creating a visual projection that they can engage with. Skye states that the objective of using the BrocaBridge on Aiden is to communicate with him inside his mind, and repair any identifiable damage. When asked by Wrench the duration of the procedure, Skye reveals that Aiden is the first human test subject to undergo it. Wrench, shocked of learning this information, tries to pressure Jackson into abandoning the procedure as there is no guarantee that it will really revive Aiden. Jackson brushes off Wrench's concerns, saying that there is no other possible options. He puts on the visor and enters Aiden's mind.
