Red King is the second story mission in Bloodline.
Plot[]
After a fight with Wrench left him captured by Rempart, Aiden Pearce is held captive in the Civil Aviation Traffic Office, with his limbs restrained and guarded by two Rempart bots. Thomas Rempart, the CEO of Rempart, stands in front of him and shakes a metal can around in Aiden’s face. Rempart explains that his men dug the contents out of Aiden’s chest, and that if it had hit Aiden 1 inch further in any direction, it would have killed him. Rempart then begins to explain to Aiden that the files he collected at BrocaTech about Thomas were true, however they failed to show the ‘positive’ side to Rempart’s plans.
Rempart states that he is currently developing a newer version of his robots, known as the Mark Two, which will be able to be controlled by the thoughts of a human pilot, boasting that both the military and police will be revolutionised by his invention. He also claims that eventually, his robots will permanently be able to hold a human mind, allowing people to live forever. However, for all this to happen, Rempart says he requires the BrocaBridge, which was stolen by Wrench. Aiden states he doesn’t know Wrench, but Rempart doesn’t believe him, as he believed Aiden worked with Wrench to steal to BrocaBridge. Rempart then signals to one of the robots to shock Aiden, which they do.
Aiden screams in pain, and then tells Rempart that he will be able to track down and Wrench and recover the BrocaBridge if he lets him go. Thomas refuses, and brings up possibly using Aiden’s nephew, Jackson, as a means of ‘insurance’ to make sure Aiden does the job of recovering the device. He then leaves, followed by one of the robots, while the other continuously shocks Aiden. He groans in pain whenever he is shocked, while the player’s view switches to that of a security camera showing the scene. After Aiden claims that he knows that even if he wins, Rempart will go after Jacks, it is revealed that Wrench is the one watching through the camera and decides to help Aiden. Wrench manages to overheat the robot and free Aiden from his restraints.
Aiden then attempts to find his gear, picking up the multidrone as well. Wrench contacts Aiden, who asks him if Aiden was being serious about hunting him down, which Aiden says he was as Wrench nearly killed him. Using the multidrone, Aiden recovers his gear and proceeds to destroy a security robot before escaping the Rempart facility. After getting to safety, he then tries to call Jacks by using Bagley, but he is unsuccessful as he does not answer, and Jack’s voicemail box is full, convincing Aiden to meet Jacks in person instead.
