Recruitment is a major gameplay mechanic and feature in Watch Dogs: Legion.
Summary[]
In Watch Dogs: Legion, the player can Recruit any civilian they come across in London. Every character can be Recruited by completing a mission for them, and can then become a playable Operative. Each Operative has their own set of unique Traits.
To recruit Operatives and and add them to your Team, making them playable at any time, they must have a positive enough view of DedSec. You must complete a mission for them, which usually involves infiltrating a patrolled area and obtaining something for them, and when the mission is complete, their view of DedSec will be improved and you can now play as them at any time.
Opinion Ranks[]
Civilians will have different outlooks on DedSec:
- Hates DedSec: This is usually gained when a DedSec operative attacks them, an acquaintance they have a positive relationship with, or helping an acquaintance they have a negative relationship with. This will make them impossible to recruit and may even lead to them joining Albion or Clan Kelley.
- Dislikes DedSec: This means they have a negative view but are still possible to recruit as long as their opinion doesn't drop further. This requires Operatives to complete two tasks in order to recruit them, either through finding tasks with the Deep Profiler or through interacting with their acquaintances.
- Neutral to DedSec: Only one recruitment task is required in order to recruit them.
- Likes DedSec: Doing a recruitment mission for them is unnecessary as they already have a positive opinion of you and they will immediately accept any invitation to join.
