Pilot Project is a side mission in Watch Dogs: Legion. It is only playable by purchasing the game's season pass, and it is the final mission in the Guardian Protocol series of missions.
Plot[]
At some point after DedSec took down the Guardian Protocol, Bagley contact the operative and informs them that he received a distress call, from a man named Albert. Albert claims that he is trapped in an Albion black site, and claims that ‘they’ don’t him spreading what he knows about them. He requests that the operative gets him out of the Albion zone, but says he needs a release code that is stored in Albion’s drone barges to get him out. Albert disconnects after he hears someone coming, but the operative decides to help Albert by setting him free. Later, Albert contacts DedSec again, and this time gives the operative more information about himself. He says he was a pilot for the RAF and was hired by Horizon Multinational to test the Guardian Protocol for them. He claimed that he wanted to ‘fly again’, however the program was taken offline before he could. As well as this, he claims that those responsible for the failure were detained, including him. He also says that by getting a release code from a barge and setting him free, he could take down both Albion and Horizon Multinational.
Drone Barge[]
A DedSec operative travels to a drone barge on the River Thames and interacts with the barge’s server, and they must survive an Albion drone attack until the download is complete. After escaping the area and obtaining the release code, Albert sends DedSec the badge number of an Albion officer with close ties with the Albion black site, so they can use the officer to deliver the release code.
Nine Elms Walkway[]
They then proceed to Nine Elms Walkway, where the Albion officer is currently patrolling. The operative uploads the code to the officer, however before they can leave the area, they are attacked by Albion drones and must flee the area.
After escaping the drone attack, the operative asks Bagley to get Albert back on their comms, however Bagley states that Albert is busy, as he is on the news. Bagley proceeds to play a news report showing some Albion drones on the rampage and attacking civilians, with lots of casualties. The report also states that Albion is attempting to stop the errant drones, and it is implied that Albert is the one in control of the drones. After the report ends, Bagley explains to the operative that one of the subjects in Skye Larsen’s lab was named Albert, and was a RAF pilot, and Skye must have made an AI based on his neural map. Bagley says that the drones are being deployed from Nine Elms Docks, so the operative travels there erase the Guardian Protocol AI.
Nine Elms Docks[]
At the docks, the operative must survive until the protocol’s AI has been deleted. However, when the deletion reaches 33%, the process is halted as Albert’s AI transfers to a drone barge to prevent it from being deleted. The operative interacts with a CTOS terminal on the barge and continues the deletion, however, at 66%, it moves again to another drone barge. After the operative finally completes the deletion of the AI, they must escape the area. Bagley then continues playing the news report from earlier, which states that although some drones carry on with attacking people, many of them have stopped their assault and have returned to normal patrols.
