The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is a law enforcement agency in Watch Dogs: Legion, and an Operative Class.

Summary[]

The Metropolitan Police Service patrol the city of London. Their Headquarters is New Scotland Yard, located north of the Palace of Westminster. It is apparent that the Metropolitan Police have been sidelined by Albion Security contractors, and no longer have any say on how London is policed by the corporation.

Gameplay[]

The player is able to play as Police Constables during the course of the game, should they choose to recruit them to DedSec. Constables have unique abilities and most start out having a negative reception towards DedSec.

Players can encounter Police Inspector Kaitlin Lau whilst working to fight against Clan Kelley, Lau had been working to build up a case about Mary Kelley's multiple illegal actions, before being kidnapped and almost killed.

Variants[]

Thames River Police[]

The Thames River Police is a division of the Metropolitan Police. They patrol the river on boats and appear at some police stations.

Customs Officer[]

Customs Officers are responsible for entry and exit into the United Kingdom and, while they are not part of the Metropolitan Police Service, they wear a similar uniform and an Operative have some of the same abilities as a police officer.

They do not patrol the streets and will not be found in police stations. Their work place is described as a "Government Building" and they wear uniforms on their way to work.

Uniforms[]

  • The basic MPS uniforms inlcudes a black jacket or a white shirt, with a black vest on top. Their vests will have "Metropolitan Police" text written on it. Male constables can have either the iconic custodian helmet or flat cap, while female constables have only the iconic bowler hat. While they are wearing their uniform, they can access to certain police stations and reduce the chance of being detected.
    • There are two types of vests, one consists yellow stripes with white letters, and the other is all-black with yellow letters.
    • In wardrobe, player may change operative's shirts or jacket if provided to do so.
  • Detective constable/sergeant may have access to a suit, that has a lanyard around the neck with a MPS badge, similar to what Caitlin Lau wears.
  • The Deputy Director wears a white shirt and a black tie. They do not wear any vest.
  • Thames River Police who are on a boat will wear a orange Albion high-vests, and wears the basic MPS uniform if on land around the station.
    • Some Thames River Police may have both uniforms available in their wardrobe.
    • Their Uniformed Access are labelled as "Albion Locations" insted of "Police Stations"
  • Customs Officer wears a white shirt with black-white sillitoe tartan-styled tie. They do not wear any vest.

Equipments[]

  • All MPS personnel wield a Baton.
  • Except the Thames River Police, all MPS personnel, including Customs Officers, carry handcuffs.
  • Most police constables, sergeants, and inspectors will carry a LTL Stun Gun, while detective constables and sergeants do not. Thames River Police, Customs Officers, and MPS deputy director, also do not carry a LTL Stun Gun.

Abilities[]

  • They can 'arrest' anyone, except fellow Dedsec Operatives. Arresting will make NPCs detained to hate Dedsec.
  • While wearing uniforms, they can enter Police Stations and other Metropolitan Police controlled areas with a lower chance of being spotted.

  • Police Commissioner G. Perkings was murdered by Albion leader Nigel Cass.
  • The Metropolitan Police behaves similarly to Albion's Employee members.
  • Interestingly, The Metropolitan Police has two unused police vehicles found in the game files: the Solace and Solace Estate.
    • Some police car wrecks can be found around London.
  • Civilian NPCs are very friendly to police officers controlled by the player, complimenting them or thanking them for their service.
  • Clan Kelley are very aggressive to police officers controlled by the player, which usually leads to fights.
  • Arresting a NPC is the same as a takedown, meaning that the player can gain ETO from neutralizing adversaries and gain Albion attention due to this.
