London Carriage Service is a location in Watch Dogs: Legion.
Background[]
Following the automation of London's iconic black cabs with Broca Tech's AI, all services were centralized through the London Carriage Service, which also doubles as a hangar, maintenance, and refitting center for the cab fleet.[1]
Each of the hundreds of black cabs is fitted with dozens of application-specific integrated circuit to provide it with the necessary functionality, capable of pulling a combined 50.4 THash/s. A group of enterprising employees decided to use this for their own benefit, mining ETO using their ASICs. While capable of pulling in large amounts of cryptocurrency, it had the side effect of shortening the lifespan of each cab considerably.[2]
Eventually, LCS caught wind of the plot, as chipsets were showing wear and tear far ahead of what was expected of hardware just barely a few years old. In particular, chips regulating passenger fare experienced loss of memory bandwidth, leading to overcharging and a flood of passenger complaints.[3]
Layout[]
Although marked as an entirely secure facility, most of the LCS headquarters is available to the general public who can be seen queuing up to lodge complaints. The collectibles are scattered across the location, with a text file in the customer service booth in the southern part, past a security scanner, while the rest of them are in the parking garage underground.
The tech points require accessing the vent on the top floor of the LCS using a spiderbot. The other collectibles are down the automated garage, with the mask in the control room for the repair station, and the final text file in a server room accessible only via a spiderbot vent on the bottom of the accessible part of the garage.

FROM: W. Downey TO: L. Barwell SUBJECT: complaint - overpriced fares Boss, Iâve stress-tested five different cabs, and they all show the same result. Memory bandwidth has diminished on chipsets responsible for regulating passenger fare. I will conduct more tests to see if this problem arises in other vehicles. I maintain that this is the cause of the latest batch of customer complaints. Iâm sure the big wigs donât mind if passengers overpay for their trips, but this wonât look good on any of us if we donât fix this soon. W. --- FROM: L. Barwell TO: W. Downey SUBJECT: re: complaint - overpriced fares What is causing this memory problem? The hardware on these cabs is only a couple years old, what youâre describing would take at least many more years of constant use. Investigate further. |

Toshi, Iâve tested the fare assessment ASIC many times over. It can conduct 50.4 THash/s. Thatâs more than three times the hash rate functionality of any integrated circuit currently available on the market. Each black cab has dozens of these ASICs, and this garage stores hundreds of cabs every night. Do you know how much ETO we could mine from these cabs every night? Weâll be able to retire within six months! Of course, this kind of operation will shorten the lifespans of the ASICs in question. Thereâs no hiding that. We will need to determine how many chipsets we use, when, if we rotate usage, etc. etc. But I canât do any of this without help from someone on the night shift. Iâll tell you what to do, you just type out some keystrokes and get back to guarding the facility. And in exchange, you and your wife get to retire. What do you say? |
