Jacks is the third story mission in Bloodline.
Plot[]
Following Aiden successfully fleeing from Thomas Rempart’s grasp, Thomas Rempart contacts Aiden and expresses his displeasure at Aiden’s getaway. He then asks Aiden where Wrench is, but Aiden says he does not know but he can find him, but Rempart downplays him as he states he cannot believe him anymore. Rempart claims he will have to find Aiden’s nephew instead, but Aiden states that Jacks is too smart to be found.
Aiden travels to Jacks’s apartment, but he is unable to enter as the door is locked, instead resorting to hacking a CTOS hub to gain access to a series of cameras inside the apartment. Aiden comes across a scholarship letter for Jacks and discovers that he is in therapy while searching for a way to disable the apartment’s security system. After disabling it, Aiden climbs through a window into the apartment and explores the room, shortly before being attacked by Jacks, who is unaware who the intruder is. Jacks manages to pin Aiden down and realizes that, to his surprise, it is his uncle, Aiden. Jacks is heavily shocked by this as he is surprised that this is the first time he has seen Aiden for 15 years. Aiden tries to persuade Jacks that he is in danger, but Jacks is too frustrated to listen. Aiden passes out and the screen fades to black.
Twelve hours later, Aiden startles awake and is greeted by Jacks, who says that he doesn’t believe that anyone is coming for him, contrary to what Aiden said earlier. However, Aiden still attempts to persuade Jacks into believing that people really are looking for him, but Jacks claims that his mother made sure he knew how to look after himself after the events involving Aiden while he was a child. Aiden backs down but asks Jacks if he can at least leave a channel open for him, which he agrees to. Jacks then points Aiden to a box on the table in front of him, claiming that the box is for Aiden, and was brought over to Jacks when his mother visited him. He says the contents belong to Aiden, and leaves. Aiden opens the box and sees his signature getup, and pulls out his baseball cap. Aiden then steps out of Jacks’s apartment, now fully equipped in his trademark trench coat, cap, and wielding his baton. Jacks informs Aiden of a contact of his who would be able to help him get gear for him if he needed – Connie Robinson, who he met while protesting. Aiden takes up Jacks’s offer and travels to the Earl’s Fortune to speak to Connie. He shows Connie the piece of shrapnel that was dug out of chest and explains that he thinks it was from a smartphone activated explosive fuse, and asks Connie where he could get something like it. Connie suggests speaking to a smuggler contact of hers.
