❝ Why is it that time and time again, that the Assassins are reduced to nothing? Pirates, hermits, street thugs. All these brushes with extinction, you would think your people would learn from your mistakes?❞
―Graham Westerly

Graham Westerly is a character and minor antagonist in Watch Dogs: Legion.

Description[]

A high-ranking member of the Order of the Knights Templar, Westerly managed to get himself installed in the SIRS organization in a position high enough that he was flagged in CTOS as first reference for if any Assassin operatives were ever caught by Albion. Notably, he displayed a respect for the Assassin Brotherhood, the mortal enemies of his Order, though during their exodus from London sometime in the early 21st century, this respect turned to a sense of pity and disappointment as he saw their flight as cowardly and unbecoming.

Events of Watch Dogs: Legion[]

Through his contacts, he had the brother of Darcy Clarkson, Lucas Clarkson, abducted and brought to an Albion facility where he tortured the young man for information on the fabled Tomb of the Assassins. Unfortunately, his efforts proved too successful as Lucas gave up the location some time before he died from his inflicted wounds. Westerly was dispatched with an elite team of Albion soldiers to secure the Tomb of the Assassins and the artifacts within, under Buckingham Palace.

However, with the help of the London DedSec branch, Darcy Clarkson managed to get in ahead of him, don the Assassin robes hidden in the Tomb, and assassinate his entire squad and ultimately Westerly himself. With his final breath, the Templar cursed the Assassins for lacking the fortitude to hold London, wishing they'd "put up more of a fight". His last words were to tell the living Clarkson to find "someone better" as her new Brotherhood. As Darcy went on to join up with DedSec, she took those words to heart.

Trivia[]

  • As with the Clarkson twins, Graham Westerly's presence in the game as a member of the Templar Order is completely non-canon to the parent series Assassin's Creed, however it is canon to the Watch Dogs universe.
  • The cutscene of Graham's dying words to Darcy and both of their movements use the exact same animation of Nigel Cass's death at the end of London's Protectors.
