- â Ah, the GBB: once considered the world's greatest public broadcaster, now considered quite shit.â
- ―Bagley in 404 Not Found
Global British Broadcasting, colloquially known as the GBB, is the public broadcasting service in Watch Dogs Legion. It is the premier national news of the United Kingdom and is the British counterpart of WKZ TV. TV screens can be found across London broadcasting breaking news, and the screens at Piccadilly Circus often flash up with GBB's breaking news.
Overview[]
The GBB serves a similar purpose as WKZ-TV in the previous games, informing the player of certain stories related to the game's story. However unlike in Watch Dogs, player actions are no longer broadcast in free roam due to the absence of the tedious reputation system. Similar to Watch Dogs 2, certain GBB stories will randomly play on repeat on the radio and occasionally around London. Mission specific stories that are important to the plot will also play as an onscreen broadcast that can be skipped although at the risk of missing important hints to the next mission or a change in dynamics. The headquarters, the GBB House, can be found in Camden, along with protesters on the plaza. The player can recruit journalists whom work for the GBB based on their occupation description and as a result they are always equipped with a GBB News Drone. Most of these recruits and in game dialogue implicate that since Albion's takeover of the UK, the GBB has become severely censored although there are further hints of censorship before Albion.
According to Bagley the news outlet, (as well as most Western news), was once reputable but has since become untrustworthy and seen as biased and even as "fake news" by the public. This is further supported by Tash of BuccanEar Radio whom is a former journalist for the news organization. The GBB appear to either support or be the proprietor of a vigilance app called SeeSay, which is humorously referred to by DedSec and the hosts of The Bug podcast as being a "snitching app" hinting that the GBB also relies on public reporting and vigilance, a reaction in the wake of the Zero Day Bombings. Interestingly there are hints that GBB may possibly relay any information on suspicious persons directly to Albion.
Drones[]
The GBB also operates a fleet of news drones and Routerunners that can be found flying and driving all over London. Occasionally players can randomly find reporters accompanied by news drones on the streets interviewing citizens and reporting on incidents. The drones will automatically begin streaming at the scenes of crime or any newsworthy incidents, regardless if it was caused by the player or an NPC (such as a confrontation between Albion and Clan Kelley). However it appears that due to the drone's light and presence, players must be aware that pursuing enemies will be alerted by the drone's position and find them. This is also warned if the player is planning to recruit civilians whom are actors and/or internet influencers that GBB drones will draw attention to them but can easily be destroyed discreetly by disabling them and using a melee attack on them.

Trivia[]
- GBB is an obvious play on the BBC, the national broadcaster of the United Kingdom.
- The GBB has some parallel history to it's real world counterpart as a relic known as the Radio Londres Microphone can be found hinting that the GBB has operated since before and at least during WWII (as Radio Londres served as a counter to Nazi propaganda radio in occupied France in reality).
- The microphone used as the Radio Londres relic is a slightly modernized BBC-Marconi Type A.
- The GBB uses a logo vastly similar to that of the BBC in the form of a stylized global with the major difference being the color, as indigo is used in lieu of the BBC's red color with a different font for the typeface.
- Most GBB news broadcasts are hosted by an unnamed, middle-aged male anchor although two unnamed younger female anchors are seen in some cutscenes in both the main campaign and DLCs. Interestingly, the male anchor has a slightly different and more older appearance in cutscenes than in normal gameplay.
