- ❝ Dammit. I hope Pearce burned his trail. I’d better get over there and make sure.❞
- ―T-Bone
Fox Hunt is a side mission in Watch Dogs: Bad Blood.
Plot[]
After the events of Watch Dogs, Blume Corporation declared they were going to reward $100,000 to anyone that could give them information relating to Aiden Pearce’s location, given his attack on the ctOS. T-Bone decided he was going to investigate the situation to avoid it spiraling out of control.
Investigation[]
T-Bone follows a number of leads to try and resolve the situation quickly before Aiden can be located.
The Bunker Audio File[]
T-Bone finds a QR code on the island where the Bunker is located. Decoded through it is an audio file left by hacker cr0w. In it, she muses about Clara’s death and how it was related to her relationship to Aiden. She then ponders over Blume’s offer for Aiden’s whereabouts, and whether she should sell the information to them, or hand over what she discovered to DedSec for street cred.
Train Tracks Corpse[]
Close by to the Bunker’s island, on an abandoned train track, T-Bone finds a corpse that looks like Aiden. Upon closer inspection, he discovers that it’s a copycat, and with it an audio log where the man says that he will take to role of the Fox after Aiden’s disappearance. T-Bone then laments that this man got himself killed by trying to impersonate Aiden, before concluding that his death is ultimately Blume’s fault given their reward offer.
Jay Pritzker Pavilion[]
At the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, T-Bone hacks through a terminal to find cr0w sitting atop the structure. He eavesdrop a phone call between her and a Blume official, perhaps Charlotte Gardner, and demands $10,000 upfront for her information on Pearce. After having her demands met, she tells the other person that Aiden was staying at the old Blume facility known as the Bunker. T-Bone is worried that Aiden may have left clues behind at the Bunker, and decides to check.
Charlotte at The Bunker[]
T-Bone goes to the Bunker and finds Charlotte Gardner and Blume engineers analyzing the data they could scrap. Based on this data, they deduce Aiden must be in St. Louis, and continue searching for more information. T-Bone decides to bug Charlotte’s phone to keep tabs on her investigation.
Mad Mile Audio File[]
At a drug store in Mad Mile, T-Bone finds a server that he hacks, and in it he discovers an audio file of two men discussing the situation of the search on Aiden, and their plan to contact the Rosario brothers to do the job. T-Bone then decides to warn Aiden, but he doesn’t pick up the call.
Independently of the order taken, after the fifth investigation T-Bone will intercept a call from Charlotte Gardner to one of the Rosario brothers. In it, she reveals that Aiden is likely in St. Louis and the Rosario man says they’ll take care of him but will hit other targets first: and old hideout, Yolanda’s house and Nicky’s house.
Final Investigation[]
Old Hideout[]
After uncovering all of the clues, T-Bone goes to one of Aiden’s hideouts on Parker Square. Upon arriving, he tries to call Aiden again, but to no avail. He proceeds to investigate the container that was used as a hideout and find a spy box. From there, he locates Andres Rosario and takes him down.
Yolanda’s house[]
His next stop is Yolanda Mendez’s house, where he encounters Murilo Rosario and takes him down before he can cause any harm.
Nicky’s house[]
Finally, T-Bone makes his way to Nicky’s house in High Grove. Albeit believing there’s not much to be found at the house, he thinks it’ll at least serve to attract the last Rosario brother to a showdown where he can end their threat. Indeed, that’s what happens after he locates Javier Rosario on the street and takes him down.
Investigation end[]
After concluding the investigation, Aiden returns T-Bone’s calls, explaining he couldn’t answer the phone earlier. T-Bone tells him that he stopped the bounty hunters, informs him that DedSec knows about him and Clara, and says that the Bunker is compromised by Charlotte Gardner and Blume, before wishing Aiden a ‘nice day’. Aiden repeats the wishes, and they hang up.
Trivia[]
- The server that contains the first audio file of the Rosario Brothers is erroneously labeled as a weapons cache.
- The corpse of the Aiden Pearce copycat doesn't have a canonical name, as the information on the Profiler is randomized.
- While searching for the Rosario brothers at each location, it’s possible to profile a henchman, with T-Bone commenting that they must be on lookout duty. It’s then possible to hack their phone, which will narrow the search area slightly.
- Scanning the QR code near the Bunker unlocks cr0w’s audio log number 2. It seems weird that the audio log is numbered after the intercepted phone call at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, since in this audio log cr0w still hasn’t decided what she will do with the information, but on the call she is already selling Aiden’s information to Blume.
- On the phone call after the investigation, T-Bone tells Aiden that DedSec knows about him and Clara, although cr0w apparently decided to sell the information to Blume instead. However, it’s possible that she both sold the intel and passed it over to DedSec, maximizing her gains.
