Emily "Emma" Child is a supporting antagonist of Watch Dogs: Legion. She was the director of counterterrorism at SIRS and was accused of being the leader of Zero Day. She is the secondary antagonist of the SIRS Chapters.

Biography[]

Events of Watch Dogs: Legion[]

During the events of Watch Dogs: Legion, a SIRS whistle-blower, Richard Malik, contacts DedSec for help to try and take down Zero Day. Malik believes that Emma Child is the leader of Zero Day.

During the mission Hunting Zero Day, DedSec spies on her secret meeting by hacking the MI:6 file server. During the meeting, she is informed that Malik has gone off the radar and he may have been in contact with DedSec. She comes up with a plan to find Malik: relocate all resources to the DedSec file until Malik is found.

After the meet she leaves the scene in a car whilst talking to the Home Secretary via her optic. DedSec hacks the meeting in hopes that she will speak about her involvement in the bombings. Later she reveals that she already knew her car’s comms were being hacked, as the car was simply a decoy and Emma Child was not in it.

During the mission Smoking Gun, she sends Albion officers to ambush a DedSec operative and torture them for information. When DedSec attempts to rescue their kidnapped operative, she reveals that Malik had stabbed both factions in the back – he is secretly working for Nigel Cass, the CEO of Albion. She believes that Malik was involved in the bombings and was responsible for DedSec being framed for them. She then makes a deal with DedSec: help her to kill Malik and their operative is released. DedSec agrees to help her. Their plan is to meet Malik at Trafalgar Square and kill him.

During the mission Kill Box, as a show of trust, she gives DedSec their operative back before they kill Malik. She waits in an office in Canada House, while four snipers cover the area. However, Malik does not arrive and she thinks Malik knows of the plan.

Death[]

Malik contacts DedSec and tells them the video of him talking to Nigel Cass was meant to be seen by Child, and he tells the operative to get down so they don’t get hit by shrapnel. Multiple explosions then happen in and around Canada House, killing Child.

Appearance[]

Child is a British woman with green eyes and long brown hair. She wears a black zip-up jacket with a red inside and a black buttoned shirt with the word SIRS written in large white letters on it. She also wears a black lanyard around her neck with a SIRS ID badge on the end.

Personality[]

Child has a calm, collected and confident attitude. She is intelligent, as she knows what DedSec is trying to do. For example, during the mission Hunting Zero Day, she has a car drive around which DedSec believes to have Emma in it, but it is actually just a decoy to try and arrest the operative.

Trivia[]

  • According to a newspaper clipping visible in Kaitlin Lau's hideout during Digging Up the Past, Emma Child previously served as Director of Counter-Terrorism at the real-life British intelligence agency GCHQ, before it was presumably reorganized under SIRS as part of the game's canon.
