Disrupt is a game engine developed by Ubisoft Montreal and used in the Watch Dogs games. It uses dynamic simulation to simulate physical interactions realistically and seamless online connectivity. The engine was created to allow for cross-generation and cross-platform play.[1]
Technology
The engine uses DirectX 9 and DirectX 11. It has the ability to dynamically simulate particles and clutter, that are affected by wind. Disrupt also simulates electricity, allowing the players to cause city-wide blackouts.
