In real life, Cleopatra's Needle was gifted to Britain by Egypt in the early 19th century, and stands upon the north side of the River Thames in the City of Westminster. The main 'needle' is a large, stone obelisk covered with Egyptian symbols, standing on top of a concrete cube with bronze-colored plaques on each side. In real life, the landmark is in between two Egyptian sphinx statues, however in Watch Dogs: Legion they are replaced with black metal lions, similar to the ones at Trafalgar Square. There is also a small seating area to the south-east side, overlooking the river, and there are also staircases on either side leading into the river.

Text Cleopatra's Needle #1
VERN By Mackenzie Douglass
O tree out my window, ye fair, strange fern, Your dance moves me but is it from your heart? Or does wind's hand stir you and me in turn? This dormer distance keeps us both apart, I long for your soft leaves in my soft hands, What fruits do your elusive branches bear? With every hour we spend my dream expands, I pray simply that I don't rudely err, You prance and sway as though you want me too, But when I try to climb you go so still, So I gaze through this musty pane on you, Admiring all the feelings you instil, O god of wind please break this wretched glass, And god, o god, o god please let me smash.
Cleopatra's Needle #2[]
Found at the bottom of the left staircase on the north-east side.
Requesting reassignment. I'm running out of excuses for meeting him at his mother's "house."
And the Canadians are getting suspicious. Embassy staff are trained in counter intel, and allies or not, I think they've worked out we're keeping tabs on them.
Then there's the ethical dimension. I was chosen for this because I'm young for an officer and I look younger. I do SEEM like a plausible friend for a seventeen year old, but the fact is that I'm not, and this situation is growing less appropriate by the day. He's developing real feelings for me, and his persistence is becoming an obstacle. To be absolutely CRYSTAL clear - I like the kid, but the feelings are NOT reciprocated.
The devices are planted. Re assignment should not significantly disrupt the operation.
During this mission, Richard Malik and a DedSec operative meet at Cleopatra's Needle to discuss a possible way of obtaining a SIRS officer's biometrics.
