Check Points are locations in Watch Dogs Legion, seen all around London. Check Points are security points guarded by Albion soldiers and workers. There are often turrets or inactive riot drones guarding the Check Point. If the player has a Heat Level, going through a Check Point will alert Albion of the player's position and refresh the player's Heat Level. Also, wielding weapons and running through a checkpoint will immediately give a Heat Level and the checkpoint will beep. Checkpoints have three phases:
- Phase 1: (Normal mode) The checkpoint has blue with arrows pointing up, and no turrets or drones are activated.
- Phase 2: (Alert mode) The checkpoint beeps and turns orange, and the turrets/drones go into standby mode. The player may initiate this phase by running into a checkpoint with banned items such as weapons. Checkpoints will also enter this phase if a player is nearby with with Heat Level 1 and 2.
- Phase 3: (Danger mode) The checkpoint is now beeping and has now turned red. The road barriers raise at this point, and the turrets/drones will now attack the player. Civilians have a random chance (very low), to cause the checkpoint to beep and turn red. Checkpoints will also enter this phase if a player is nearby with with Heat Level 3, 4, or 5.
If the player liberates a borough in London, then the checkpoints within that borough will no longer be in use, and civilians will be able to freely walk around without the fear of getting arrested.
In Resistance Mode, the checkpoints are always orange, which means the player cannot enter them without attracting Albion's attention, even without a Heat level. As a result, they must find another way around.
Trivia[]
- An interesting detail is in Bloodline, the boroughs south of the River Thames have their checkpoints disabled (but with blue tarp coverings), but the boroughs north of the River Thames have their checkpoints enabled as normal.
- When Civilians walk through one side of a checkpoint, the other side doesn't register that a civilian has walked through it.
