The San Francisco Bay Area, commonly known as the Bay Area, is a populous region and the main setting of Watch Dogs 2.

Description[]

The San Francisco Bay Area is the main setting of the game, and encompasses the major cities and metropolitan areas, as well as small islands and rural areas.

Major regions[]

	San Francisco[] Main article: San Francisco San Francisco (officially the City and County of San Francisco), is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California. San Francisco is the main urban city of the game and is one of the largest areas in the game. It is located almost on the center of the map and is known for its Cable Car and Streetcar system.
	Oakland[] Main article: Oakland Oakland is the largest city and the county seat of Alameda County, California, United States. Oakland is a small region located on the east side of the map and is mostly composed of a large downtown and several districts. Oakland is also known for its main port, one of the busiest places in the region.
	Silicon Valley[] Main article: Silicon Valley Silicon Valley is a nickname for the southern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, in the northern part of the U.S. state of California. Silicon Valley plays a major role in the game's story, since it is the HQ of many large tech companies such as Tidis Corporation, Blume Corporation, Nudle, Galilei, and others, and the birthplace of hacking and technology (much like its real-life iteration, which is also home of many of the world's largest high-tech corporations and thousands of startup companies). This area is on the southern side of the map and is bordered from San Francisco by rural areas.
	Marin County[] Main article: Marin Marin County (known in-game as Marin or The Marin) is a county located in the San Francisco Bay Area of the U.S. state of California. Marin County is one of the wealthiest localities in the United States, known for its affluence Marin is on the northern side of the map and is one of the wealthiest areas in the game, featuring quiet residential areas and small rural areas.

Yerba Buena Island sits in the San Francisco Bay between San Francisco and Oakland, California.

Yerba Buena Island is a small island that houses the main bridges that connects San Francisco with Oakland and features a few buildings on the urban area.

Alcatraz Island[]

Alcatraz Island is located in the San Francisco Bay, offshore from San Francisco.

This isolated island is home of a large, now-defunct prison, serving as a major tourist attraction for the city. It hosts a small souvenir shop, and a variety of activities for the discerning eye to find. The island is also available for tour guides, which are active primarily during the day.
