Bankside Playhouse is a location in Watch Dogs: Legion.
Background[]
A replica of the Globe Theater constructed in the same spot as the original, Bankside Playhouse was a world-renowned venue until the Albion takeover. Due to "community outreach" by Ernest Fogerty, a SIRS "Community Engagement Officer", the director of the Playhouse, one Humphrey Scott, decided to dedicate a season to an "experimental procedure" as part of the SIRS "Better Theatre" program. As the number of quotation marks suggest, this was thinly veiled propaganda aligned with the political program of SIRS, and a crude attempt at social manipulation.[1]
Naturally, the actors protested, and after a failure to change the Director's decision, published an open letter protesting drivel as “Bright Britannia” and “The Refugee,” designed to stoke the fires of nationalism and xenophobia, directly to GBB.[2]
Layout[]
Only the front courtyard is open. The two text files are located on ground level, while the relic is up top on the roof next to the western end of the theater (spiderbot recommended).

| FROM: E. Fogerty TO: H. Scott SUBJECT: SIRS program The new programming is attached. These plays have been approved by SIRS for the Better Theatre program. Just to reiterate: this is an experimental procedure designed to last only one season of your programming. We will analyse the political and habitual inclinations of theatregoers once the season is over. Feel free to share your opinion on the approved plays. Regards, Ernest Fogerty SIRS Community Engagement Officer --- FROM: H. Scott TO: E. Fogerty SUBJECT: re: SIRS program Well, the plays are rubbish, but you already knew that, didn’t you? The actors won’t like it, but I’m sure they won’t like having to deal with SIRS directly, either. I’m expecting walkouts. It won’t be the end of the world if we need to recast. I’ll make this work. Don’t worry. Humphrey Scott Director, Bankside Playhouse |

| GBB: OPEN LETTER TO DIRECTOR SCOTT Director Scott, Let me start with an apology. It was never our intention to publicly shame you in this manner, but after many unsuccessful attempts to speak with you directly, we were left with no other choice. We write this letter to object to the choice of productions you have mandated for the Bankside Playhouse this season. We in the Bankside Players have always prided ourselves in our programming. Shakespeare, Jonson, Ford, these are the playwrights who brought out the best of British culture and people. Instead, this season will consist of such contemporary drivel as “Bright Britannia” and “The Refugee,” designed to stoke the fires of nationalism and xenophobia. We, the Bankside Players, will not perform in these productions. We ask you to reassess the programming for this upcoming season, and remember: ‘Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once.' Regards, The Bankside Players |
