―Nowt

404 Not Found is the ninth story mission in Watch Dogs: Legion, and the second mission in the 404 Chapter "Family Business".

Plot

After completing DedSec's first contract with the 404, the 404 contacts the player and reveals more about themselves. The anonymous caller tells the player that they administrate the network, as well as give the contracts. Initially only giving that information, the 404 realises that she is in contact with DedSec after hacking the player's Optik, and reveals herself to be Nowt. She then directs the player to go to Somerset House as she is staking out contracts there. Although other operatives cast their doubts on meeting with Nowt, it is eventually settled that the player will go and meet her anyways, so as to collect more information.

Somerset House

While infiltrating the Somerset House, there is an exhibition being presented by Broca Tech. After hacking Nowt's AV server, Nowt can be seen knocking out a guard that found his way into her room. After quieting down the wounded guard, Nowt tells the player that she had been investigating a massive contract, which she considered "too massive" for "the plebs who use 404". Before Nowt can proceed with the contract, she tells the player that they first have to gain each other's trust. She decides to do this by giving the player another 404 contract, which is to erase the Quantum Computer located at The Nexus Tower.

The Nexus Tower

Upon reaching The Nexus Tower, Nowt gives the player more information about the contract. She tells the player that a Quantum Computer used by Albion is being held at The Nexus Tower, which is used to simulate civilian response to large-scale events, such as mass arrests, deportations, and bombings. Nowt tells the player to destroy the Quantum Computer as part of the contract. After the player infiltrates The Nexus Tower and erases the Quantum Computer, Nowt is satisfied. She then directs the player to the GBB House to find out what Nowt's massive contract is.

GBB House

After the player infiltrates the GBB House's roof and hacks the CTOS Hub located there, the player finds themselves watching a conference being held by Broca Tech CEO Skye Larsen. During the presentation, Skye unveils her newest project which she dubs Daybreak, going over its functions. Supposedly motivated by the loss of her own mother who died of motor neuron disease, she invents a way to scan one's brain and uploading its neural map to the cloud, which in theory would practically would make one immortal unless the neural map itself is shut down. Just as Skye tells conference-goers on how Daybreak works, she tells the technicians handling the live feed to cut the camera, which effectively blocks the player from viewing the rest of the conference.

Nowt then contacts the player, and tells them of her intent to deal with Skye for reasons unknown. The only thing holding her back is that Skye herself has not been seen in public for nearly two years, and holograms of her are not kill-able. When other operatives question Nowt on why she wants to go after Skye, she directs the player to Skye's house to find out more.
